2013 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

6:22 AM

So, last night was the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, and I must say, as a first time viewer I was expecting more...
Don't get me wrong, now, I loved it, but it just felt as though it did not live up to the hype that people give it every year. It was shorter than what I thought, and the models this year are...ahem..tinier than usual. Not that that's a bad thing, but when I think of Victoria's Secret I think of Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks and Giselle Bündchen, not Karlie Kloss and Cara Delevigne, but hey, times are a changing I suppose. I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed the performances (minus Taylor Swift believing herself to be one of the models.....and her general presence) with Fall Out Boy taking me back to middle school, A Great Big World reducing me to a blubbering mess of tears with that insufferably catchy song that is just so damn sweet, and Neon Jungle having me jump around in my room in song and dance. Oh, but the outfits *sigh* just to die for! But what I loved, I mean REEEEALLLYY loved, was the presence of so many women of color in the Victoria's Secret lineup. Not only did they come in all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds, these women came serving FACE and LEGS, and WALKs to absolutely die for. I loved them so much, I had to make a slideshow of the beauties that crossed my television tonight.  On a scale of 1-10, I'd give the show a 6.5, but I know that I'll definitely be tuning in again next time.

With Love,
The Girls' Room
